Ready in: 5 minutes

4 Nathan’s Famous® hamburger buns

¾ pound 80/20 ground beef

1 large yellow onion, very thinly sliced

4 slices American cheese

Yellow mustard

Thinly sliced dill pickle chips

Salt and pepper

(optional) Olive oil

  1. Form the ground beef into 4 equal meatballs.

  2. Using a large sauté pan or griddle over medium high heat, add the meatballs with a pinch of salt and pepper. (optional- add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan or griddle before adding the ground beef if desired) Add thinly sliced onions over the top of each burger and using a flat spatula, smash the burger as flat as possible. (The thinner the better)

  3. Cook the burgers for 2 minutes and then flip and cook another 1-2 minutes. (The onions will caramelize and steam the burger from the bottom)

  4. Add a slice of cheese to each and cover to melt.

  5. To plate, add a bit of mustard and a few pickle slices to the bottom bun, place the burger over the top and then add the top bun. Serve immediately.
